It is good practice to work on your balance daily so that your kicks are powerful and your legs are strong. Here is a list of a few ways you can fit in a couple of minutes of balance practice.
- When watching television, stand on one leg. See how long you can hold it.
- If you have a someone who is free to practice with you, challenge each other to see who can stand on one leg the longest.
- Try practicing in front of a mirror to see if you are keeping your shields up, elbows are down, knee is up high and in front of body. Can you stand there longer than your reflection?
- Try kicking but in slow motion, counting through each step of the kick (eg: 4 count front kick, 20 count front kick, 6 count side kick, 30 count side kick). Do both legs at least twice for each kick, changing stances to work both sides.
